Hard work, perseverance and an 8-week challenge sees David back on track
For those struggling to get back on track with fitness goals, who are fighting with motivation or feeling guilty about starting and stopping their workout programs, a fitness challenge may be exactly what you need for a push in the right direction.
We all struggle to stick to a routine and stay inspired, but targeted, short term fitness challenges are connected to a variety of positive behaviour changes, increased productivity and overall better quality of life. From forming new habits to having your own support system, challenges provide the structure to help you consistently move forward towards an end date or specific goal.
David Abbott, 56, said he wanted to use a gym challenge for all the benefits they provided.
“I started with BodyFit Noarlunga only a couple of months earlier, and wanted a challenge to get myself back on track,” he says.
Utilizing Everything For The Challenge
David reveals he did the BFT Noarlunga workouts 6 days per week, and followed up on Sundays with either a bike ride or a walk for an active recovery day. His gym’s 8 week challenge included unlimited training at the studio, plus progress tracking which included Evolt 360 body scans as well as access to nutrition sources such as a daily meal plan, recipes, shopping lists and nutrition advice.
“The food was a set option as supplied by BFT Noarlunga as part of the challenge,” he says.
“I’m vegan, so I followed the Vegan Stream; plenty of beans and legumes as well as grains. No special supplementation was used at this time.”
David’s Thoughts On The Evolt
David never had a body scan before, and said it was incredibly interesting to see how the functionality and mechanics of the Evolt 360 worked to his benefit.
“It was definitely an eye-opener that first scan, and a great tool for the follow-ups, I had one at halfway and the other at the final weigh-in,” he explains.
“The Evolt Active app was easy to follow, especially the options for progress. These made the progress tracking easy to follow and could be motivational. It was the best way for me to get some unbiased results; not everyone is aware or comments on your journey, and this is a good way to see results which you would not normally be able to measure, like visceral fat loss – mine dropped from 5.6 to 3 over 8 weeks!”
