Where It All Began

For Joshua Crawford, the fitness journey started at a young age. Fresh from high school football team tryouts in 2008, he came to the realization that being a modest 105lbs and an 11th grader wasn’t necessarily the greatest foundation for a high contact sport.

It was a low blow, and something clicked in him. The disappointment of his physique holding him back drove him to make a promise – that he would never again allow himself to be denied a goal because of his physical abilities. And so he set himself sights on getting to 150lbs.

That spark and determination saw him enter the US Marine Corp in 2012 at 190lbs in the best shape of his life. But after a serious shoulder injury saw him retire from service in 2016, he had found himself 60lbs lighter and mentally defeated.

Doctors straight away became the pessimists, saying he would never be physically what he wanted to become. Joshua immediately flashed back to that feeling of failure in 2008 and said to himself, never again.
